Verona

During our Easter trip to Northern Italy, I opted out of a 6 hour ride with Alisha and drove down to Verona for a long afternoon. Verona is an ancient Roman city, characterized by the original Roman city walls, most of which are still standing, and the large arena in the center of the city. They arena is very well preserved, and they still hold shows and operas for the public every summer. Verona is also noted as being the setting for Romeo and Juliet, as the Bard quotes on page 1 in the Prolouge: Two households, both alike in dignity, In fair Verona, where we lay our scene, From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
