Chateau de Haut-Koenigsbourg

A self-guided tour of the Chateau de Haut-Koenigsbourt, a 900 year old castle in southern Alcance, France. Construction of this castle started in 1105, and underwent several major upgrades and updates throughout the centuries. It's been fully renovated twice - once in the 1700's and once at the turn of the 20th century, which restored it to its current state. This castle served great strategic purposes for its occupants, as it is perched at the ridge of a hill and one can see for miles around in most directions, as you can see from the panoramic pictures (be sure to view these in fullsize!).
