Notre-Dame de Strasbourg

The 600 year old Cathedral, the Notre-Dame de Strasbourg, in the middle of town. The cathedral was built between 1176 and 1439, and is 466 ft tall at the top of it's single spire. The pictures of the clock and globes are of a working astronomical clock housed in the cathedral. It was built in the last 1500's and tracks the sun, moon, and earth movements. It was restored to working order in the 1800's and is started up each day at 12:30pm for a live demonstration. The pictures taken at night are of a light show they perform during the summer between 11:30 and 1:00am each night. They have dozens of colored spotlights trained on the front and side of the cathedral, and they perform a light show coreagraphed to music.
